Summa Time

Summer is underway and I am loving my time off. I am blessed to get this time at home with my boys. We have been staying pretty busy. We kicked off summer with a visit from Grammy and Papa at the end of May. It was short but we loved having them. They love to come to Cali this time of year and enjoy the yummy strawberries. They taught us how to make jam so we can enjoy the fruit all year long. Just days after they headed back to Idaho we took off to San Antonio. Drake's first plane ride at 6 weeks and he was perfect. Both my boys did an amazing job traveling. It was wonderful. It's always nice to see family. The Sanchez family was eager to meet our new addition. We stayed busy. We got to spend two HOT days at Sea World. That was a first for me and my boys. We had a great time. Andre loved spending time with all his Uncles and his Auntie Amani. Lots of time was spent with Grandpa. We don't get to see him very often so our time with him is that my sweeter. Grandpa threw an early birthday party for Andre at Peter Pipers Pizza. Andre is still talking about how much fun he had with all his cousins. We really enjoyed seeing everyone. We wish we could make it down more often but we are grateful for the time we get to share with our Texas Family. We have been home now for a couple weeks enjoying doing nothing. We are preparing for our next adventure to Idaho. We are going to spend a week there with my family. Of course we will have another party for our Andre. My baby is going to be 4 on July 15. I can't believe how smart and grown-up he is. I am sad my baby isn't my baby anymore. He is so eager to be a "Big Boy" and do big boy things. It's all part of life. I am such a lucky mom to have to healthy, happy boys. Life doesn't get much sweeter.

Our baby boy finally made it. We are happy to introduce Drake Reeves Sanchez. He was born April 17th at 8:45 am. He weighed 9 lbs 10 oz and was 21.5 inches long. It wasn't easy getting the little guy here. We tried an induction on the 14th with no luck, just a lot of PAIN!!!!! He was a stubborn boy and was going to come on his own time. After about 2 days of contractions I decided it was time to go back to the hospital to see if we had made any progress. We got there on April 17th at about 1:00am. I was dilated to a 7! That was great news. Within a couple of hours I was fully dilated but the baby was way to high to start pushing. There was a lot of talk regarding a c-section which made me a little nervous. All it took was me repositioning and it was time to push. It took a good hour and a half of pushing to get Andre here. With Drake I pushed for about 4 or 5 minutes and our little guy was here, Healthy as can be. Andre LOVES his little brother. On a regular basis I hear "My brother is so cute." He is a great helper. My sister Cara was able to be here for the birth. She was HUGE help. She spent most of her time taking care of Andre but we were to lucky to get to have her at the hospital for the birth. We appreciate her so much and are so grateful for all of her help and support. We have settled in to our family of 4 nicely. I am enjoying my time off with my boys. I put up a few pics of Andre when he was little. They look like brothers! Life is really good.

It's almost TIME!!!!

The count down is on until we are a family of four and we can't wait. My due date is about a week and a half away. I am finished with work so I am spending my time with my boys and cleaning my house. I kn0w I need to be resting but I feel like I have so much to do. My wonderful husband lets me sleep in on our days off together which is WONDERFUL!!!! Andre can't wait for his baby brother to get here. He has been helping me get everything together for his big arrival. He is going to be the best big brother. He always tells me that he isn't my baby any more, he is my big boy. I am so excited to spend the next 4 1/2 months being a stay at home mom with my boys. We will now play the waiting game and we will let you all know when our new addition arrives!
