Swine Flu and Scary Pumpkins

So Andre got really sick. He was never tested but we were told by two different physicians that it was the Swine Flu. He battled 103 degree fevers, the chills, congestion, coughing, and vomiting. It went on for 7 days. Rob and I took turns being home from work with him. It was rough but he was a trooper and made it through. He is doing great now. A bit of a cough left but that's it. Thank goodness we are all health again. Rob and I managed to stay well. Not sure how that happened but I'll take it. We did some pumpkin carving yesterday. Andre is really in to Halloween. I liked "Scary" things just like his cousin Mailee. He wanted Rob and I to get the "guts" of the pumpkin out, then he would pull out one seed at a time. Now our Halloween decorating is complete!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch a few weeks ago. Andre had a blast. We walked the entire patch looking for the best pumpkin they had. Well, apparently we found the best ten pumpkins they had. Who needs that many?! What are you supposed to do with the small different colored ones? We will be carving them up tonight. I will try and talk Jess into making pumpkin pie too. At the pumpkin patch they had a corn maze. We decided not to partake because we know dad would have to carry Andre most of the way, and Andre would say look daddy corn the whole time. We did not want to risk him getting tired half way through and put dads navigational skills to the test. They (dads skills) probably would have prevailed! They did have an old tractor tire there that they filled with dried corn kernels. All the kids loved it. There was a kid there that was around 8 years old that was doing head first dives into it. I could not stop laughing. Apparently his grandpa liked it too he kept egging him on. The rest of the day we spent finding corn kernels throughout Andres clothes and diaper. Good times.
